Dr. Sarah Thomas is an Associate Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Balliol College. Her research focuses on photonic quantum technologies, particularly the development of quantum memories and single-photon sources for scalable quantum networks. She investigates light-matter interactions in atomic systems to enable secure long-distance quantum communication and distributed quantum computing. Her work includes projects like EQSOTIC, which integrates quantum dot sources with optical atomic memories, and initiatives on multiplexing techniques for high-performance networking. Previously, she held a research fellowship at Imperial College London and conducted postdoctoral work in Paris on quantum dot-based single-photon sources.
